Pickup for Alternative, Hot Rails, JBjr or ?

Hey guys. I am new to this forum. I have a Strat that I want to replace the bridge pickup on. I want to use this guitar as it plays great I just want a better sound for my style. I had a PRS Custom with Dragon 1s and another PRS Custom with HFS (hot fat scream). I am looking for a pickup that is close to these that is the single coil sized humbucker. I play alternative, Collective Soul, STP, etc. I do play fast leads and would like the pickup to be able to handle the faster playing. I mainly play with distortion. Maybe play 8% clean so clean isn't too important as long as it has a clean that sounds ok. From what I have read in the search and website the Hot Rails maybe the best bet but it might be too mid rangey. Would the hot rails sound as full as the PRS pups or ?. I like to have some bass and not a lot of highs. I would appreciate everyones info on this. Thanks.

I don't think there is a Duncan single coil size pickup that will do exactly what you describe. Only a full size humbucker will sound exactly like a full size humbucker. The Hot Rails would probably be the strongest of the available choices. Lew

i have cool rail in the neck of mi godin artisan telecaster style and it has great for warm jazz and also for distorted shred fusion solo. but i don´t no if it is beautiful in bridge.
you can try di marzio pro track or fast track 2. pro track have more vintage tone with good medium and bass

I have a feeling you're gonna be disappointed either way you go...Personally, I found the Hot Rails WAY too mid-rangey. I greatly preferred the JB jr, but that was mainly because the cleans were so good.

Thanks for the info guys. It sounds like the hot rails is the best bet. I appreciate the info. If anyone else has any info please post it. Thanks.

IMO, the Hot Rails is wound so hot, it practically distorts everything.

The JB jr is my favourite and screams almost as well as full sized buckers.

BTW, the JB jr needs 500k pots to really shine.
