Pickup for an EB-3 copy

I know the Gibson EB series basses that had a neck pickup--including the EB-3 were known for a muddy sound--and the pickups have many derogatory nicknames--such as mudbucker.

And some people love the mudbucker sound as well.

Okay--I don't have an EB-3, but a copy--with no varitone.
The bridge pickup I am happy with--it's not the biggest sound, but more than loud enough for my purposes, but the neck pickup is weak so I rarely use it.

The only replacements I've seen for it that won't require any routing are boutique and so called boutique and they want big bucks for them.
Once I also pay for shipping and possibly duty & tax & brokerage fees and then the cost to install it, I would be paying well over half what the bass would be worth, and in some cases almost as much as the bass itself. And I'd be better off just getting a new bass, but I love playing this bass, I love how it plays, and how it feels, and I like the bridge pickup.

I'm fine with leaving it if I can't find an affordable alternative, and keep either using the bridge pickup or both pickups together.

Another alternative would be to re-wind it.
There's not much to it, despite the large size of the cover--it's tiny.
And I don't think mine is a humbucker, like the original.

Any thoughts?
Again I'm okay with leaving it as is, but thought I'd check out the alternatives.

For reference, here's a picture.
And thanks.

Re: Pickup for an EB-3 copy

The DiMarzio Model One and Will Power Neck humbuckers should do the trick. The most important difference between them is the polepiece spacing. (The WPn is slightly wider to suit Precision Bass string spacing.)

Thanks, I've been looking at videos online--some aren't as helpful as others due o the amps used or other things, but it's helped.

I'll check how much they go for around here, but I was kind of hoping there was a SD alternative.
