Pickup for Jackson DK2

Hello everybody.I'm new on this forum and I'm going to change the bridge pickup on my Jackson Dinky DK2 (Alder body, rosewood fingerboard, maple neck, floyd rose licensed).
The pickup is a Duncan Designed HB-102 and in my opinion it isn't a great pickup.

I play mostly rock/hard and play through a Crate 120w. I'm looking for pickup with a warm, fat tone, which enhances bass and mid tones.

I was wondering about three pickups which could suit well:

-Tb-59
-Custom Tb-14
-Blues Saraceno PATB-3

I'd like to know your thoughts on these pickups, how they sound, how could fit on my guitar ecc.
If you have any other suggestion for different p.u.,feel free to add.

Hi welcome to the Forum..Between those pups I would say TB59 or PATB3.. The PATB3 works well to make a guitars with a fender scale length sound more like an LP. instead of the Custom5 give the Custom a short. I think u will like the Custom a lot more.

-Blues Saraceno PATB-3 is you choice. Thread should be over now!

Fat like a LP. I have one in my Jackson SL-4 and it rules. Most pickups I tried in it before were kind of harsh/bright. Pickups like the 59, C5, JB, etc, etc, etc. The PATB-3 is fat and thick but, defined with great clarity. For teh tone you are looking for out of this axe, this is your choice by a mile.

Re: Pickup for Jackson DK2

Well,I think you've hit the nail...does the sl-4 had a JB on the bridge?

I meant SH5 Custom the one with the Ceramic magnet... But listen to what odie says.. he swears by that PATB3.

It came with the jb in the bridge and neck from the factory. TB-4 and SH-4.

I have had nearly every Duncan in it though.

Alright...and how does the distortion sound like?Isn't it too weak?

No it is not weak but, it will not give you what you are looking for. It isnt thick. It is still slightly on the bright side of things.

Get a PATB-3 and end your quest.

Re: Pickup for Jackson DK2

Ok,I trust you.Where could I find a technical description of this pickup (DC resistance...)?On its webpage I couldn't find any

Re: Pickup for Jackson DK2

Thank you.I've checked the tone comparison chart. So,the B.Saraceno model is an Alnico V magnet with a four conductor cable.Does this mean it can be splitted?
A feature I can't understand is what does "Pro shop" or "Player's pick" mean (in the icons).

Yes it "can" be split becasue it is 4 cond..

As far as "Pro shop" or "Player's pick" , IMO it means next to nothing. I pay no attention to that stuff. I only pay attention to if it sounds great or not.

Re: Pickup for Jackson DK2

I wonder why some "Player's pick" models have "Made in America" written on the baseplate, while some "Pro Shop" models have "Made in USA" written on the base plate. IMO "Made in America" does not mean "Made in USA" and there might be something that implies outsourcing or something else. Of course, just like Dimarzio, Duncan will say all pickups are made in the USA, but I don't buy that (either from DMZ or SD).
