Best pickup choice for classic rock single humbucker and 1 volume knob?Mahogony body/maple top neckthrough w/ Kahler(brass rollers).I'm concerned about brightness due to rollers.

JB. I am fairly certain that is the best pickup made. You can roll back the volume to get a classic tone, crank the drive and get massive crunch. Just my opinion.

Welcome to the forum.

For a mahogony guitar, for classic rock, I really like the custom custom, although some people will find it a little dark. You might also want to the check the custom and custom 5.

Is that a Red Sox hat? Congrats! I grew up around Baltimore hating them and the Yankees. I wonder if they'll get A'ROd?

Re: Pickup for single hum Flying V

If you are concerned about brightness then I would stay away from the JB and I would also recommend the Custom Custom. If it doesn't have enough top end for you, you could try the Custom. Both seem like more balanced pickups to me than the JB. The JB is fantastic on the right guitar but you have to be ready for that high-mid spike its got and hope its the frequency you are needing.

Already have a JB in a Gibson '68 Les Paul Custom.Wanted more of an early ZZtop sound.I also have a single hum CS Charvel w/ vintage vtrem mahogony body/maple w/ an antiquity.Looking to change it up a bit. What about a seth lover or pearly gates?

I think you'll be right at home with a Pearly Gates. It's a pretty versitile pup that loves Amps with alot of gain on tap.
