Pickup instalation and distance to strings.

Hello all - new guy here who just installed a little 59 in my telecaster bridge position:

http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/electric/telecaster/high-output/little_59_for_t/

So far so good except My E string seems louder the further up the neck i play it.

I am not sure that I have my pick up height at the correct height the manual states: "adjust the pickup height so that your new pickup is set between 1/8” and 1/16” from the strings (when they are pressed down at the highest fret on the neck)"

This seems awfully generic and there is a reason that they put those adjustment screw on the pick up. Should each string be 1/8" from the pickup adjusted for the curvature of the fret board?

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Generally, I recommend adjusting your string/pickup height by ear. If one string is louder than the others, try lowering the adjustment screws. If you can't lower them anymore, try lowering the whole pickup and then adjust the polepieces individually to balance all strings.
