Pickup Install Question

Folks-

I just got a new set of Quarter Pounders for my tele. I'm planning of installing them tonight. This will be the first time I've put in my own pickups and I have a question.

The lead pickup I was sent came with a coil tap "red" wire. Now I don't plan on using the tap, nor do I have a push-pull pot to activate it.

So do I just ignore the tap wire or do I need to sodder it as diredted in the diagram?

if i am understanding you correctly, you can leave it unattached so the pickup is wired for full strength ... or you can attach it and wire it for 'always tapped'
