Pickup Little 59 height adjustement on Eastwood JR Elite

Hello

I have a Eastwood JR Elite, the originals pickups are: Mini Humbucker Neck and Hi-Output F-1 Fixed Single Coil Bridge
I have replaced the bridge pickup by a “SD Little 59 for Strat” but because of guitar design, I can’t get the pickup close enough to the strings to have to correct output signal

I got 5 mm (1/5 inch) from the pickup to the strings and the mini-humbucker is still louder than the Little’59

Can you help me? Maybe I choose the wrong pickup ?
Thanks

Hi, Welcome to the smartest forum on the web! Lots of sharp people here.
1. If the neck is a bolt on, you could change the angle of the fretboard so the head is higher, that would let you lower the bridge quite a bit, getting the strings much to the pickup.
2. It is possible to set the pickup over the black pickgaurd and fix the correct size nuts under the pickgaurd (with a strong super glue) to accept the pickup screws for height adjustment. I would cut something to protect the underside of pickup, like a thin but heavy duty black foam. That would get you VERY CLOSE to the strings, if too close, you could cut the pickgaurd to allow for any wires or - IIRC - I think it just has one back flexible wire that houses the red, black, green, ground wires. That would not take much of a cut to allow for that wire. I hope you understood what I said.
I have to be careful, my word choices are sometimes misleading lately. But I read it twice, and I think it would makes sense to anyone reading it. I am happy to accept corrections or additions to my ideas. Thanks, and good luck, stecova!
My 2 cents,
Steve Buffington

Yes it is a bolt on neck but I dont want to cut it to fit the pickup, ant the bridge is quite low

I prefer to cut the pickup screw to have more height, but I wont be able to fix the pickup after that :/

I agree. It is a neck angle problem. You could shim the neck to decrease the neck angle a small amount which would allow you to lower the bridge closer to the pickup. I don't see another easy way to do it without modifying the pickguard in some way. You could drill cutouts for the pickup base to pass through the pickguard, and direct mount the pickup to the body with long screws and springs.
