I have a YJM Fury bridge, yjm dmrzo middle,YJM Fury neck just 1 volume
it sounds great when its cranked as soon as the volume gets below 9 it looses all the crisp brightness and output. I don't believe it has any resistors or anything on it . Just wired to volume. Pot to output jack.
Thanks

you should loose Some output if the pot is below 9. that's what makes it Work.

Also, a pot Trolled dow will naturaly bleedoff Some highs. if you want to combat that,I Suggestsearching for what is Called a treble bleed mod.

Re: pickup output issue YJM FURY yjm Dimarzio midd yjm B

could this be due to having a pot with a resistance too high for single coil pups, making the volume drop too sudden? or using a linear taper pot instead of audio?

Re: pickup output issue YJM FURY yjm Dimarzio midd yjm B

Resistance has no part in volume only in how the highs are perceived. Completely due to the actual working of pot. It splits the signal where one part goes to earth and the other to the amp.

So... the drop can be because of the taper but also because the volume drop is a virtual one. With that I mean that the resistance combined with less signal might change the voice or voicing and in effect cause a virtual drop. You think its a major drop because the frequencies the human hearing hears best get attenuated more than others. But that is highky specukative since I have no reak data to base my guess on ;)

I don't believe it has any resistors or anything on it.

Never mind "believe". Undo the screws fastening the pickguard and take a proper look.

I would expect to find 250k audio taper pots.

I would double check the wiring. These pickups with no tone pot (just like Yngwie runs his guitars) shouldn't become muddy when you bring the volume pot down.
And yes, check the pots resistance, and feel free to give us some info on your setup. (amps, pedals and stuff).

I have alot of guitars i play through a mesa boogie ace, Marshall afd100 bradshaw mixer gcx switching system se70,quadraverb,dhp55 mesa boogie 2:90, axefx2 matrix gt1000fx Marshall cabs.
It just looses all the tone and the brightness like its muffled with a scarf. Do i need a cap , or a resister on the volume Pot and what should i have in it a 250 or 500. And what if i have a mo joe humbucker and a yjm together?
Thanks

How are yngwie's guitars wired?

The sound should definitely not get muffled. I would check out which type/brand of volume control you have. Normally you'd want 250k. Now if you put in a humbucker, you'll have to compromise, the bucker will be darker with a 250k, and the YJM's will become brighter with a 500k volume.

How are yngwie's guitars wired?

Like yours, just volume, no tone controls. His sig guitars have no-load tone pots that remvoves them from the circuit when on 10.

Will i need a capacitor if i dont use a tone control? How is the YJM speed pot?
