Re: pickup recommendation....

Parallel Axis Trembucker is the first suggestion that springs to mind.

A TB-4 JB2 Trembucker is the second suggestion. (JB modded with Alnico 2 bar magnet.)

Re: pickup recommendation....

WHICH blues tone?

Buddy Guy?

BB King?

Albert Collins?

Stevie Ray?

Re: pickup recommendation....

And thanks for the gear description.

Clean or dirty blues?

Honestly, almost any set of PAF's will do it.

I'd say just get a pair of 59's, PG's or A2P's - depending on your preference for all around, bright/grit, or fat/smooth. Or mix and match those at will. I will suggest tapping whatever you get and a cool rails or tappable hot rails for the middle.

Re: pickup recommendation....

+1

I get a rather tasty latterday David Gilmour neck PU sound out of an RG321MH with an EMG-H and an -SPC mid booster. Needless to say, a valve amplifier helps with this.
