Pickup replacement for Epiphone BB King Lucile

Dear Musicians,

I have recently bought an epiphone bb king Lucille. It came with epiphone pickups.

I would like to replace the stock epiphone pickups with Seymour Duncan pickups. Could you please suggest appropriate SD pickups for replacement.

Thank you very much in advance for your kind cooperation!

Best,
Rasha

Welcome to the forum!

What don't you like about the stock pickups? And what kind of sound are you hoping to get with your new pickups that you can't now?

If you want it to sound like the real Lucille, the closest you'll get is with the Gibson 490R and 498T set.

I have a 335. Tried a bunch of pickups in it over it's life. My current favourite is the Whole Lotta Humbucker set which have been in for a few years now. Big, open, plenty of bass, yet defined plus with a really bold yet clear top end.
Fantastic pickups in a semi. They make a 335 sound like a full hollow 175, yet it can still hold together and sustain at higher volumes and gains. Just a fantastic sound for electric blues.

Although I believe Lucille's come with 490's (at least at this point), they're pretty uninspired pickups, and like any pickups made by Gibson, way overpriced. Gibson's also known to change the specs on their pickups, so they can subject to change depending on when they were made.

Duncan has some great sounding pickups that would work well in your guitar like Seth, A2P, & WLH.

I am not a fan of the 490t or b pickups. They are like pretzels without salt. And nothing to drink.

Until Rasha comes back, we can throw all kinds of suggestions, but I am not sure what Rasha is looking for.
