Pickup replacement for Jackson 7string soloist multiscale

Hi, I'm new to the forum and to multiscale guitars. I have SD black winters in my 25.5 scale Ibanez 7. I would love to install them in my Jackson multiscale 7 but the poles don't line up with the strings. Stock it comes with blade humbucking pickups that are not capturing the low end grunt I'm after. I play in open B with .74 gauge on the 7th string tuned to F#. Can the black winter pickup be modified to sit in an angled position?

Welcome to the forum!

My thought is that the baseplate needs to be switched to something that matches your current pickups. Some of that stuff is custom work, but you might give SD a call and ask them to build a pickup on your existing baseplate so they don't have to build a new one.

Thanks for the replies, the factory jackson pickup is
3 5/8" and the black winters are 3". I experimented to see if staggering the coils would line up but it appears that i almost need an eight string pickup to cover the width of the strings. I don't believe a baseplate mod would help me in this case. I will take your advice and give Seymour Duncan a call to see if a soapbar style would work.

Most of the time, multi scale bridge pickups are mounted at an angle is akin to a strat bridge pickup, which does nothing good for them. I'd recommend trying to put the Duncan coils on the Jackson base.
