Pickup selection help

OK...I have a Epiphone SG special here. Looking to upgrade pickups. The guitar overall is bright. Maple neck, Alder body and R/W fingerboard.

I would like high output for the bridge without making it excessively brightand hopefully good clarity.
For the neck, warmer tones will be great. I am looking for the woman tone. Which i believe is like overdriven leads without the hairy distorted sounds.

Thanks in advance. As for the bridge, do let me know if I am asking for toomuch and if I am do help me out with what to look out for so i can make a compromise yeah?

The 59 can give you good woman tone. I think it can be quite bassy, but since your guitar is bright, it might work out pretty well.

I just swapped the Alnico 5 magnet out of my JB and installed a ceramic mag in it's place. It's basically a slightly lower output version of the Distortion, since my magnet was just about standard size, while the Distortion has an extra large magnet. I have the pickup in a Les Paul Doublecut copy, and it's a pretty bright guitar, especially compared to my LP Studio. I didn't dig the JB cause I didn't like its low end, and it got too bright sometimes. With the new magnet, I love it. The low end is much better and palm mutes are great now.

From my experience so far with my JB w/ Ceramic, the description and tone chart for the Distortion is misleading, IMO. It makes it seem much brighter than it really is. It's also more versatile than it's made out to be.

If you want a more PAF voiced pickup, one of the Custom series pups can work out well too.

It seems though that the 59' is vintage output. I was looking for something in the moderate to high output and then taper it off with my volume. Any help? Thanks. :13:

This is a good set for you. A Custom Bridge and an Alnico II pro neck! Those should do the trick!!!
