Hey there!
I'm rebuilding an 89 Yamaha RGX612S.
It's a wonderful super-strat from back in the hey days of shred.
Alder body, bolt-on maple neck, rosewood board, 24,75" scale, Yamaha RM-Pro trem (which reminds me a lot of Ibanez's ZR).
However, it's going to be tuned down to C (standard C, not Drop-C) with .013 gauge strings.
That being, I'm not really sure on which pickup I should install on the bridge position.
I am leaning towards DiMarzio Evo 2, that I have on an RG470 and I love... but being a shorter scale and a deeper tuning, I'm not quite sure about where to get things going.
I really need some practical advice (not catalog reading please - e.g., Petrucci uses *** pickup; DiMarzio says *** pickup is good).
Let me know what you are using on your 6-string ERGs!
Cheers...
