Pickup suggestions for a Fender Jaguar HH

I just picked up a Fender Blacktop Jaguar HH for cheap and the pickups are meh. It's an alder body, 24" scale with rosewood fretboard, and stoptail bridge. I play through an '83 Marshall JCM 800 2204 and Orange 2x12 w/ V30s. I mostly play indie rock/alternative stuff so I want something with balls but also cleans up well. I have plenty of gain and bottom end/treble with my amp.

I think I've settled on a SD Jazz for the neck. These are what I was looking at for the bridge:

Custom Custom
Custom
JB (I had this in a Guild S-100 and hated it but I'm still considering it)
Pearly Gates
Dimarzio Super Distortion

Add the Custom/59 to that list.

I play the same music, and i have a 59/custom in my les paul, really nails those kind of tones. But it is versatile enough to do just about anything I've tried.

Welcome to the forum.

The question that you need to ask yourself is this: Why did the previous owner get shot of the guitar so cheaply? I suggest that you play the guitar unamplified for a week or so. See what you think of its inherent acoustic properties before investing a great deal of time or money in the HH Jag.

I had one, same music: DMZ super distortion at the bridge, instant Cobain sound. for the neck I used the original one so I can't give you any advice.

I own two Classic Player Jazzmasters so I know I like the guitar. The stock pickups are just cheap and I want something better. Investing $160 in new pickups for a guitar I paid $200 for isn't a bad deal.

I guess it depends on whether you want to enhance the attributes of the guitar or fight them. Personally, when someone says indie rock, I really don't think of a high gain pickup.
