I already have the single humbucker pickguard, though. I'd rather not change it out for a single single coil pickguard.

Might not be such a bad idea. Do they sell covered 500T's? Those do have odd string spacing, but they do sell covered 498T's, and those have the same spacing.
Well, it is fuzzier and doomier. And it looks cooler.

No pickup will ever look cooler than the BW with the gothic font! LOL.
Especially once you get some wear on the black nickel poles. It looks MEAN like a weapon. :laugh2:

Serious question, though... can you get the Slug or Diablo in zebra?
No covered 500T on the Gibson site. I was thinking aftermarket. A TV or radiator-style cover might look cool on that Strat if you don't want to worry about pole spacing.
You'd have to ask SD directly about that. I know the bobbins are different than other production pickups.

So DiMarzio has a sale on their site for Black Friday so I got a double cream D-Activator to try. Wish me luck!

I'm hoping the D Activator I ordered is the ticket.
It does have the unbalanced coils, so I can try turning the hotter coil towards the bridget to more or less help with the issue that the guitar has the bridge pickup like a mile away from the bridge itself.
