Pickup suggestions for Fender Mustang

Just picked up a Mustang and as much as I love the guitar I want to swap out the pups for something hotter. Will Strat pickups fit?

Any strat pickup should fit. I have a 22in scale duosonic and SSL-6's sound great. I wanted something other than a single coil sized bucker and that's why I chose the SSL-6. The SSL-6 can take an incredible amount of gain and still sound good.

I have a 24" Musicmaster-turned-Duo that sounds great with a Fast Track 1 in the neck and Fast Track 2 in the bridge.

the reviews for the Mighty Mite Strat Pickups at Harmony Central are really good.

inexpensive and most reviews say better than most other Strat pickups.

i got a loaded Mighty Mite S/S/H strat pickguard just fot the pickups. but i havent installed them yet, so i can't verify the good reports.

i'm still trying to get the hum out of my (genuine) '69 Orange Competition Mustang first.

i rewired it with new pots / switches / wire / jack and capacitors, which brighted up the tone considerably, but it still hums like a wicked witch.

the pickups are Schaller S6 singles (ca. 1984 - big pole pieces / thick rounded edge covers)
and Dimarzio PAF (1978) in the middle with added LP type toggle for its activation in the Duo Sonic position on the right horn.

any thoughts on why she hums so badly ? the hum is as loud as the guitar signal.
