Pickup Suggestions For Import Strat

I have an import Stratocaster that I ask advice on. I would like to upgrade the pickups which are SSH. Since the body is thinner looking for pickups that wont be overly bright. I play blues and classic rock mostly. Been looking at the Lil 59 for the neck but wonder if there may be better options. Also, any suggestions for the bridge? I'm currently playing thru a Fender Blues deluxe and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 111 limited addition. Thanks in advance to all those more knowledgeable than me who are kind enough to offer suggestions!

For Blues, I'd say you probably want a single coil for the neck, maybe even a P90 type offering such as the Quarter Pound for Strat if you are into that. For Classic Rock, a moderate to higher output bridge pickup is in order. Do you require them to be noiseless?

Just going off the little info I have, I'd say a STK-S7 for the neck, a STK-S4 for the middle, and look into a 59/Custom Hybrid or JB for the bridge. Maybe a Custom Custom if you want fatter mids.

Welcome to the forum!

A Little 59 is a great idea in any position. But it really depends on what kind of sound you tend to like. A Little 59 is a great clean and distorted humbucker, but doesn't sound like a Strat pickup at all. So, a Litte 59 is perfect for a classic rock/blues humbucker thing, but I'd lean towards an STK-S4 if you like classic Strat sounds. As for the other pickups, I'd go for the STK-S4 in the middle no matter what your neck & bridge pickup is. For a hotter sound in the bridge, look at the 59/Custom Hybrid.

I'm biased and think nothing sounds like a good single in the neck of a strat. For the humbucker, I would lean towards an APH1 or a 59/custom if you want more power and a more useful bridge single coil when split.
