Pickup Wiring Options

I recently installed a JB bridge and Jazz neck in my Ibanez Iceman, and I would like to put some new pots and toggle in it, plus shield the guitar-basically do a really nice job, rewire the whole thing properly. My question is I'm not sure if I should wire it in/out of phase, coil split, or series/parallel. Which combination is the most usefull? I know its probably a matter of personal preference, but before I buy push-pull pots and stuff I would like to know what to expect. The guitar currently has two volume, one tone, 3 way, and I will not drill any new holes in her! Thanks

i usually go with a split option as i find it the most useful. you can split both pups with one push/pull pot if you want

I was originally thinking of splitting them, but I read that the difference in tone is not that different between the coils, but I find that hard to believe. I am looking for some useful tones, nothing too odd sounding, so I think I will probably split them. Thanks for the reply.

The difference between one coil or the other isn't huge, but generally, splitting refers to the difference between single and humbucker. That tone change is significant. Well worth doing.

I've installed the basic PRS McCarty wiring, 1 Vol, 1 Tone (Push Pull) 3-Way switch. It seems to be the most basic wiring for getting the 6 basic straight sounds. The only other thing that I wish I could do is blend the PU's when in the middle position.
