Pickup wiring schematic for my new guitar?

Hello! I started a guitar project and just finished putting all the parts together. All that's left to do is wiring the guitar, but I don't have very much knowledge on wiring. I can solder pretty good, and if I had a diagram, I could do it easily. However, as much as I've looked on the internet, I can't seem to find a schematic that's close to what I have setup. Can somebody make me a schematic for my setup? My setup is:

5 way switch: image of a similar type of switch to mine: http://www.soundchamberrepairs.com/pictures O-Z/SwitchStratImport.jpg
2 humbuckers, 1 neck (DiMarzio) and 1 bridge (Seymour Duncan)
1 tone knob, push/pull
1 volume knob

I'm looking for a setup that can provide a good variety of tone options, like parallel, series, out of phase, and coil cut. Thanks in advance :)

Re: Pickup wiring schematic for my new guitar?

Thanks. I have already looked at those schematics and the closest thing to what I'm looking for is http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/schematics/2h_1v_1t_3w_1pp.html
but the push/pull is on the tone, not the volume, and my switch is a 5-way. Another good one that is really similar is http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/schematics/2hum_vol_tone_5way-w-split.html but mine has a push/pull, and I want to be able to make use of the push/pull. Thanks :)

Welcome to the forum. There's a few wiring schematic genius's around here. They'll be by to help you out within the next day or so.

If none of them show up, I'll see what I can do. :D

Re: Pickup wiring schematic for my new guitar?

Great! I can't wait! I want to finally hear the kind of tones my guitar can produce :D

Re: Pickup wiring schematic for my new guitar?

So anyone going to help me out? I'm really eager to get some sounds out of my guitar >_<

Re: Pickup wiring schematic for my new guitar?

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry, I can't help with the wiring, but the least I can do is bump you back up to the top so that your chances of getting this seen should be improved.

I can certainly understand your frustration...you can only play the guitar acoustically and use your imagination for so long.

Good Luck on getting some help.

Re: Pickup wiring schematic for my new guitar?

70 plus viewings of this post and nobody has finished helping Jiet.

If ArtieToo is busy, possibly someone could give this a try.

Jiet is really sufferin' man.

Thanks

Dave

Re: Pickup wiring schematic for my new guitar?

how many lugs your 5 way switch has ? can u post better viewing of the switch ?

just suggestion, if you like more tone options switching,..you might wanna use 5 way superswitch.

Man . . . thats a weird 5-way. :eek13:

If it was me, I'd just get a Fender-style 3-way, like this, (part # 3191), and wire it up as normal. Then use the push-pull to split both buckers.

Look at this thread. I'd use the third drawing - "Split to neck-side coils. (humbucking)"

I can do you a diagram, but I've got a couple in front of you, and I just don't have quite the free time that I used to. I'm movin' slow. :)

The image in my original post is my switch and if a lug is the places you solder, it has 7, all on one side. It might be weird, but my old guitar has the same switch as this one.

I already have this switch so I don't want to go out and get another one. I didn't quite understand the diagrams in the link you posted. Is that a push/pull that everything is being wired to? How would i wire it with the switch? Sorry for being so noobish :p

I understand, but there's only so many things you can do with two humbuckers. I'll see what I can do.

Yes, thats a push-pull. A DPDT switch would work the same. They both have six terminals. The two dark lines that go to the left are just the two "hot" wires that you wire to a 3-way or 5-way as normal. And don't forget the ground.

If you use the 5-way, however, you may not need the push-pull. Let me see what I can come up with.

yes a lug is a place you solder into.
then it must be standard strat import switch.

im free. but i wont hijack Artie's call :D

Don't worry about that at all. Its nice to have someone else to handle wiring chores. ;)

I just don't have quite the time that I used to. :yell:

You can make one too! I's nice to have more options ^^

Thanks!
