i wanted a pickup advice ,
i own a Jackson DKMG 2005 Alder body , Rosewood fretboard with EMG-hz h3 that totally suck's
the Pups on my HZ sounds too Muddy and Plastic like tone so i wanted a pickup upgrade ..
i am so confused about the choices because i have not been through much pickups my idea was to have
i am looking for a a good Crunch / Warm and some Punchy type of sound
for Riffs / Solos and Drop Tunings !!
i was thinking about the
SD Mustaine's Active set :
tho i really like the Megadeth "dave mustaine" tone
EMG 81/85
( nearly all my fav band uses a set of these Killswitch, Nickelback , Godsmack, Ill Nino) nice good punchy type of attack , but to shrill and thin (EMG 81)
or
SD Blackouts
( i heard they have more High Freq and really good for Soloing and riffs )
i play on Drop tunings also, dose the Mustaines are upto the job for the drop tunings ?? do they have the same attack like (EMG 81/85 | SD blackouts)
and what about soloing i know the JB kick all major ass on the soloing and harmonics stuff since the Mustaine Actives are Voiced after JB / JAZZi have
help me out with a review about the Mustaines vs EMG81/85 vs SD blackouts
one more thing i have to ask , are the mustaines pups coming in defective some times cause i read on threads people are getting Feedback from God-knows-where ??
i am asking this because i live in a remote area and i am going to order the pups online so it will be really difficult for me to claim the warranty ..
+ some sound samples will be great!!!
