hi everyone, i've got a blue fat strat and I wanna change the pickups for getting a nice sound, i've got a all tube peavey valveking 112 and i'd like to know what are the best pickups for my strat, I was thinking in putting a sh-4 jb in the bridge and getting 2 ssl-2 vintage flat in the midde and in the neck, but i don't know if they work aswell, for me is difficult because i wanna get the seymour duncan sound (jb and jazz models sound) but i dont know how to replace the jazz model with 2 single coils.
I play a rock blues style.
I hope you can help me in my problem, if you know about another combination you're welcome to tell me....

Re: pickups for a fender fat strat

wow, I was thinking maybe also on the brigde the sh-5 duncan custom.... with the 2 ssl- 2 vintage flat... what do ya think???.....

Re: pickups for a fender fat strat

also my fat strat has maple fingerboard and also i was thinking instead of the pair of sll-2 vintage flat, to put in the middle position the APS-1 Alnico II Pro Staggered and in the neck the SSL-5 Custom Staggered, and in the bridge the sh-4 jb or the sh-5 duncan custom......

please help on this.....

Re: pickups for a fender fat strat

I've done two Strats now with the new Duncan noiseless Classic Stack Plus pickups and the JB in the bridge. Awesome!

That's the set I now recommend for Super Strat type guitars.

Beautiful balance from pickup to pickup, phenomenal tone...and humbucking in all positions.

Re: pickups for a fender fat strat

thanks man, i will look for that combination...

does anybody else knows about another combination for my fat strat???

Re: pickups for a fender fat strat

I'd rather put a '59 or another lower output humbucker in the bridge instead of the JB or another higher output humbucker. I like the volume balance better then. With higher output single coils it's a whole another thing.

Re: pickups for a fender fat strat

I have used the Pearly Gates in the bridge position along with vintage out put singles in the neck and middle. That works great for both balance and tone.

Use 250K pots along with a JB or PG.

Re: pickups for a fender fat strat

another combination could be the APH-1 alnico II pro hambucker in the bridge with the APS-2 alnico II pro flat singlecoils, will it sound right???

come on!!!
