The AT-1 is based on Andy's number one which had has/had a JB in it.

I don't believe this is true. The AT-1 got its roots from The Breed Neck and was specifically designed for his mahogany guitar. The JB in his #1 died and was replaced with th AT-1. His tone changed fairly dramatically and very much for the better for what he does, AFAIC.
