Pickups for Carvin CT6

Hey there,

Picked up a Carvin CT6 (actually a CT3 with a maple top) for a great price. It's loaded with Carvin's S22 pickups.
I'm not sure if it's the guitar or just the pickups, but the tone is lacking.
The guitar plays great, love the action. The sound is lower output than the Antiquityn/Burstbucker 3b combo I have in my Les Paul.
I'd like to get a lil more modern with this guitar. Piano-like cleans with the neck, hard rocking with the bridge.
Looking for something a bit hotter, while retaining an open sound and good response to guitar volume rolloff and coil tapping.
I have a Motor City Detroiter in the bridge of my SG that just plain rocks. I'd like something similar to that, but maybe more versatile. The Detroiter is like a hot PAF with more mid punch, but still retains excellent dynamics.

I tried the Whole Lotta HB set with my SG and didn't care for the way they compressed. I want something more lively, dynamic.
I was thinking of trying the Jazz/JB combo, or maybe something like a Super Distortion in the bridge and Air Norton in the neck.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The Jazz will definitely give you piano like cleans in the neck. It has the cleanest clean cleans I've heard so far. And yes the JB is hard rocking for the bridge. Another rockin bridge pup I like is the Alt 8.

Cool man, thanks for the input!

Anyone else have a good suggestion for a double cutaway mahogany body, maple top guitar, kind of like a PRS 22?

My thought is the Jazz in the neck, and a 59/Custom Hybrid in the bridge. To me, the Hybrid does not compress but has enough output to rock. It sounds great split, and any hotter, you would run into compression problems.
