Pickups for Ibanez RG370

Hello, I need some suggestion, I would like to replace the pickups on my Ibanez RG370DX 2004.

The guitar has:
Basswood body
Maple neck
Bound rosewood fingerboard
HSH

I' m still a low skilled player, I play clean, blues and rock now but in future i would like to play also some hard rock and metal.

I was thinking about the Jb & Jazz set, It comes cheaper then 2 single pickups and they're described as very versatile.
Do you think they would be the right choice taking in account what I like to play and the kind of guitar?
I'm always worried about thebrghtness, I would need to replace the pots with 250k with those PU?

About the central pickup i've no idea yet.. I like to use middle + south neck for strumming and just middle for cleans.
Getting "that famous" strat sound would be nice, but I've to be sure the middle fits with the other two.

The JB/Jazz combo is tried and tested set for clean-to-hard-rock. Yes, 250k pots will darken them up a bit. For a slightly darker set, I could recommend the Alnico II Pro/Custom set too for more mids/less highs. It will still rock.

You don't *need* to replace the pots, but it probably is a good idea to replace them because lower-end guitars don't usually come with great-quality electronics.

You don't *need* 250K pots with the JB/Jazz combo either. It's a taste thing. 250K will be darker than 500K. I like my JB's with 500's, personally.

I used to have a JB in my RG570 which is a pretty similar guitar to yours. It was great. The Duncan Distortion was great too.

The Patb-1 Patb neck set works great and avoids some of the JB/jazz set's weaknesses. I have Seymour Duncans in a dozen guitars, but I have never been crazy about them in Basswood RG's. I have a Tone Zone with a Paf Pro in one RG, the Breed Set in another, and a Tone Zone and Air Norton in another (not crazy about the air norton though... too muddy).

Thank you all for your suggestion on the humbuckers!! I will probably get the jb/jazz but i will hear some samples of the others, maybe i will fall in love!!

maybe the SSL-1 is a good choice, it should fit with the Jazz.. For clean and strumming I like it to be "soft"... is it the right one?!
