Pickups for Les Paul Custom

I'm considering getting the Duncan Distortion for the bridge position. I'm into metal and rock and blues. I want to be able to get a good saturated distortion sound without being muddy. I have a MD-2 for distortion and a 100W Marshall half stack. I'm also the only guitarist in my band, and want a good sound for leads. I was thinking a Jazz in the neck, but now I'm thinking about just putting Duncan Distortions in both slots. Will the DD be a good bridge (or neck) pickup in this guitar? Thanks

Re: Pickups for Les Paul Custom

DD would be fine, search the tips and clips section on this board and look for Stevo's clips, he made some with a DD set.

I'd check out the Custom for not-as-trashing but agressive and thick high output. It covers a bit more ground I believe. I have a USA Jackson which has the Jazz in the neck and it might just be what your looking for. It's articulate and certainly not muddy, the leads are creamy and fat, huge attack and great sustain. I've posted a clip so if you dig up my old topic you can hear Jazz-sweep picking under high gain.

Welcome to the board!

I would get the Jazz for the neck and the Custom for the bridge.

Why the custom over the sh-6? Any particular reason?

for what you're talking about I wiould go jazz in the neck and either Distortion OR Custom in the bridge...both would be fantastic choices!
