Re: Pickups for Les Paul Studio 2011
JB's are a controversial PU here in mahogany;.. For LP's, it can be a roll of the dice.
Thanks Blue Man, I tend to agree. Even without giving them a listen besides they cant be split and they may be too hot. Back to WLH!
Archer, I was being a little dramatic but I believe each of us have our own talents and guys like Clapton, Page, Beck, Hendrix, Knopfler, Slash, etc. had maybe a little extra talent than the average 'Joe' when it came to the six string.
I just finished making a
initial list of parts I would need (besides the pick ups).
Tronical Robot Tuners
Seymour Duncan triple shot (pair)
From Stew mac
Graphtec TUSQ XL nut
Truss Rod Cover - so I can screen print my last name on it and make it different.
Crème Binding
LR Braggs X bridge Bridge and Tailpiece
Stew Mac Free way Ultra Pickup Toggle switch
Alpha Speed knobs
Alpha Push Pull Pots
1/4" stereo phono jack
Some shielded wire and 0.015, 0.022, and 0.047uf orange drop caps
I still have work out how I can going to control the level of the peizo (if I go that route) which is why I am including both triple shots, push-pull pots and the Free way switch so I don't run out of switching options. I might not need to use all 3.
Oh BTW talking of Les Pauls the last of the Signature Ts are going...I'd have picked this but shipping to India would double the cost (yup with Shipping, Insurance, Import duties, Local taxes, etc.. we would be looking at $3500+).
