Pickups for Schecter 7 string and magnet question

I just recently bought a Schecter A 7 with case for $150. I don't have it yet, but I know it's gonna need a pup change. For a mahogany body my favorite bridge pup is the custom 5, but Duncan doesn't make that model in a seven string, so I guess the custom would be my first choice right now. I know you can change the magnet to alnico 5 to make a custom 5. I have never changed mags before. Can you even do that with a 7 string, and would it even be worth it (the custom would probably be pretty sweet as is, right)?

For the neck pup I have no idea. I like the jazz in a 6 string, but I don't know how it sounds in a 7. I am open to Dimarzios too, so anyone have any recommendations?

The Custom and Jazz should sound good in that guitar. If the Custom doesn't float your boat you can always swap magnets and try a Custom 5.

That's what I was thinking. So you can use a standard a5 mag in a seven string?

No, the magnets are longer. The good news is that the A5s out of the Duncan Designs that were originally in the Schecter will fit just fine, and work just fine.
