Pickups for Schecter Corsair...

Hey guys!

I just got a Schecter Corsair (which i love so far), that's pretty much like a Gibson ES-339. So it's a semi-hollow, maple body, mahogany neck, ebony board. I actually really dig the rock tones (i use it for punk/rock, as well as clean stuff), but i wanna replace the Duncan Designed humbuckers it came with. I was wondering what you would recommend for this guitar playing the afformentioned styles? I thought about doing Gibson 57's (as i believe that's what comes in the 339's), but i don't know if there's a similar/better route?

I was thinking of trying some Bare Knuckles, and Tim recommended the Riff Raff set, but again, i have no experience with them. Any info/suggestions? Thanks!!!

Cheers!

Re: Pickups for Schecter Corsair...

I use a Pearly Gates bridge and a Phat Cat neck in my Corsair.
It's heaven, baby. The DD '59 knockoffs that came in it were krap and did not go with the guitar IMO.
If you're doing non-vintage musics with it, try the Custom series in the bridge and try Jazz, PG, AP2, or Phat Cat in neck.

I have one. I have a '59 in the neck and a Brobucker or S-Deco in the bridge - I'm not sure. It's a righteous axe.

Re: Pickups for Schecter Corsair...

Okay disregard that, i found it on the site. It does sound like it would be pretty awesome. How do you go about ordering one, can't seem to find them? Are they available anymore? Debating between this or something from Bare Knuckle i think. Thanks!!!

Re: Pickups for Schecter Corsair...

It's a custom shop pickup. If you're in the USA, you can order it direct from the custom shop. And it'll be wound by either Seymour or MJ.

Awesome, thanks Evan! Anyone know a rough price on these? And lastly, anyone have an idea what these look like on the "tone chart" (i.e. EQ)? Thanks!

I'm really tempted to get a Corsair at some point and drop some P-Rails into it.
