Pickups in a Duesenberg???

I was wondering if anybody tried the stock pickups in a Duesenberg guitar??
I'm especially interested in the humbucker models, but comments on P-90's are welcome too!
I know the Duesenberg humbuckers are the same as Kluson aftermarket humbuckers, except the Klusons don't have the metal shielding around them.
Are these pickups any good? Anybody has any experience with Duesenberg (or Kluson for that matter) pickups?

Thanks in advance for any replies!! :fing2:

Re: Pickups in a Duesenberg???

I visited a friend who has collection of American made guitars (Fender strats and teles, Gibson LPs and 335, Gretcsh, Rickenbacker, Tom Anderson) in his studio. It was a good opportunity to try them all. Since I'm mostly a tele guy, I reached AVRI '64 first then Tom Anderson tele. The built of Tom Anderson tele is superior and I thought that AVRI '64 would be my favorite in term of sound. Duesenberg Starplayer TV was the last guitar I tried. As soon as I strummed it, I smiled. I liked what I hear. A lot. It nailed the sound in my head. Chewy hb and airy hb-sized P-90. Vintage sound galore. I think the semihollow construction helped too. It was my favorite guitar among the collection. The funny thing was my friend didn't like the sound. I've been thinking to buy it from him but it means I have to sell my guitars.
