Pickups in a Gibson SG for metal?

Well, I just got back from my first practice with my hot-rodded Schecter C-1 Elite and my stock Gibson SG Standard. I just installed a Custom/59 set in the Schecter yesterday and was very impressed by the results. Normally, the SG smokes the Schecter in tone, but the Duncans really make the difference, especially in the guitar's volume. Because of this, I'm thinking of putting a set of Duncans in the SG.

My band plays mid-heavy, modern metal. I play through a Marshall DSL100 head with a Marshall angled 4x12. My ideal tone lies somewhere between The Haunted's rhythm and Megadeth's clean and lead tones. I'm thinking of getting the same Custom/59 set, but I'm also considering other pickups like the JB, Distortion, or Invader in the bridge and the Jazz, Pearly Gates, or Alnico II Pro in the neck.

What should I do next?

SGs with their thinner bodies are usually brighter, so a JB or DD might be overly bright in the bridge. my vote is for anderson H3 (b) and an A2pro (n)

I have a USA BC Rich Mockingbird with a Custom in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck. It's about the same thickness as an SG and I love the way it sounds.

Alnico II pickups sound like **** in SG's. Get a DiMarzio Super Distortion/Super 2 setup. I had that in my SG after I replaced the Alnico II Pro in the neck and it sounded awesome through my Marshall. I highly recommend it for SG's.

The Jazz model sounds really killer in my SG's neck spot. The Custom 5 is not too shabby either, but probably not *quite* what you're looking for. Apparently putting a Jazz Bridge model in the neck also yields some pretty kickass sounds.

APH in the neck and JB in the bridge sound great in SG's and similar guitars.

SH-13 Bridge and SH-10 NECK!!!!

Your SG will smoke--I have those combo in all my SGs and they totally kill.

For metal I'd go with the Dimebucker & maybe something like a Jazz in the neck (Don't be put off by the name)
