What Pickup Combo Would Work Well For Metal (old Metallica)
I Was Thinking A Jb/jazz Or Custom/59 Could Do It....please

Old Metallica, if my memory serves me, was a Distortion in the bridge for Kirk and an Invader in the neck for James. Through modded Marshalls and Mesa Mark-series amps.

Old Metallica = bass and distortion...this is a pretty easy one.

Didn't they used to use Invaders? Now they use EMGs but i mean..."metal" is such an easy tone to get. Turn up your distortion and you should be pretty close

You need their amp to get their tone, pickups really don't make as much of a difference as an amp and hands for tone.

A Custom/59 would hand metal wonderfully.
