I like the HM Strat. I've never seen one with that finish before.

It's the only one I've seen in that finish too. I like to call it Chuck Berry Red, but it's more of a marble.

Re: Pics of my Axe.

Cool stuff you got there. I like your stripped down strat. :D What a workhorse! What'd you do to the finish? It looks like someone took something really abrasive to it... BTW, are you a female? If so, I love it when a chick can play the guitar well!

Re: Pics of my Axe.

Me female? No, but if I was I know what I'd be squeezing all day .

I prefer women that can play the flute, but hey, to each his own.....

I got the black one as a beater, something I'm not afraid to scratch or throw around. The next upgrade is going to be Zakk Wylde's version of a straplock (if you've seen them, you'll know what I'm talking about).

It's covered in black hockey tape (cloth backed tape, used for grip on hockey sticks). I did it just to see if I liked it flat black before I went to the trouble of re-finishing it, but I've kinda grown to like it the way it is. It drives guitar "purists" up a wall. Most surprisingly, the tape hasn't seemed to affect sustain any, and it also comes in neon green and hot pink, should I decide I want to "re-finish" my guitar again.

Lovely

What pickups are going in the rest of that grey strat...which i like that finish of by the way :D

Re: Pics of my Axe.

Thanks for all the Kudos guys.

I'm not too sure what pickups are going in it yet. It has a JB in there now. I'm thinking of pairing it with either a Jazz or a pair of singles. Fender Texas Specials or Duncan Texas Hots are what I'm looking at right now. I'm not too worried about ballance as I generally don't switch pickups durring a song, and I'll boost with my EQ if I do and the ballance is an issue.

nice black strat, what pick up do you have in that bridge?
The black has a JB.

The red has some stock Fender singles (no idea what type, but they sound pretty good) and a stock DiMarzio Super Distortion.

(I figured I'd add that last part before somebody asked :).)
