Comments from this amp?

I'm only after the clean tones. And because of that, it needs to handle all sorts of pedals well.

Also, how much would you pay for this amp?

Thanks for your inputs!

Re: Pignose G-60VR

Well, since no one has replied, I'll talk about the 40 watt model that I had. It had decent tone for the price, although I would not say that the cleans were a beautiful Fender clean, but it was usable. I forget how much my 40 watt model was new, but I think it was around $200, on sale. Not bad for the price, but I ended up throwing it out a second floor window, because it started making funny noises, and it was Chinese built.

If you could get one for under $200 used, that might be ok. I never tried pedals w/it, BTW.

I'm not sure if Chinese made is an issue for you. I bought it figuring it was made there, because it didn't cost much. The fact that it was just made it easier to toss out the window.

If it didn't make all those noise, would you have kept it?

I can get one for about $200. I don't wanna throw out $200 like you did with the 40-watter.

I've read online that they sound decent with a Speaker and/or tube upgrade. Any truth in this?

Thanks!

Re: Pignose G-60VR

Actually, it wasn't a bad sounding amp for the money, I just felt like throwing something made in China out the window. Maybe I should have tossed a blender, or a toaster, but I have a few amps, so, what the heck...

I would have kept it w/o the noise; it probably wasn't anything serious. I don't know about the tubes, but certainly a spkr upgrade would have improved the sound. Usually amps like that will have a low grade spkr, and the one in it had no markings to indicate what type it might have been.

I know in Australia, amp prices can be quite steep. Is it similar for you? If so, that sounds like a good deal.

Re: Pignose G-60VR

Not as steep here. Though some retailers have crazy mark ups. My bro is in Brisbane and he couldn't believe the prices down under when he moved. :)

I will test drive the hell out of that amp. I hope the cleans are better than what I would get from a valveking 112. I was disappointed with the cleans of that amp.

Thanks!
