pimp knobs!

so.... this is what happens after a pair of drinks and staring at your speed knobs thinking how plain and normal they look

yeah i like the soft worn look this thing projects with all the cracks on the pickguard (thou they weren't intentional)

Re: pimp knobs!

uh well how more it could be?
by the way the blank silver bottle cap is from a green apple with soda mixed vodka and i attached them with hot glue, i plan on swapping it with a different bottle cap, maybe one from the same beer as the vol..... you know for matching the damn thing

Re: pimp knobs!

As if you use the volume knob anyway?

I have my relic project that may get this treatment.

Re: pimp knobs!

well, actually those feel very soft, but thats because i softened the edges with a file, then closed the caps a little with pliers and when i glued them i filled the damn things with hot glue, pressed them against the knobs so there would be excess glue coming out of them, when the hot glue was finally cold i cut the excess with a knife, but a tiny bit of the hot glue keeped on the edges of the caps.

very rat rod like but i think it looks cool

Re: pimp knobs!

is that reflector tape on the sides and the inside of the V part? That is pretty sweet if it is!
yup, indeed it is reflector tape, i think it's actually a 4 feet long piece of reflector tape, i was thinking of changing it to a fully silver tape, maybe 6 feet so it covers the whole sides of the thing, but right now the red and silver looks quite cool, i originally put it to cover the hole left by the output jack, which used to be on the inner side of the lower wing, making playing sit down impossible, the original tape holed so i plugged the hole on the guitar with a piece of pine and toothpicks, sanded to level and put the current tape

True, but if you get sweaty when you play live, having those on the knobs can help if you have to play with them a lot.

well actually the caps aren't that rough, they're a bit softer on the hands than the dimebag traction holes you normally do with a soldering iron (the vol pot has the dimebag traction mod f you look close) and if you sweat a lot (like me) turning the puts becomes tricky, with these things the knobs no longer slip on your hand

I agree. I sweat a ton on stage with all the lights and ****. So I could understand why having those would be helpful.
