Pimp My Celtic Amp Faceplate :)

Scott's making me a late-50s tweed Tremolux replica. She'll look something like this. Everything's all set in terms of parts except for the faceplate, knobs and labels. I'm looking for alternate color combinations, since the actual faceplate isn't metal but plastic. There are some limitations, but I'm hoping to get ideas I can bounce off him.

I was initially thinking about going with a brown faceplate with cream knobs and cream labels, but it turns out that'll be more difficult to do than expected. The reverse was suggested: a cream faceplate with either brown or oxblood knobs and brown labeling. Any other thoughts?

Oh, and she's gonna need a name too.

Re: Pimp My Celtic Amp Faceplate :)

are you gonna go with a tweed covering?

if you're going with tweed then i'd probably go black with oxblood knobs and cream lettering!?

Re: Pimp My Celtic Amp Faceplate :)

I have already named her. This will be a new addition to the Celtic line. :)

Re: Pimp My Celtic Amp Faceplate :)

I have to hear it first before I announce it offiically. I think it's going to be feaking killer. But, I've got to make sure of a couple of things. Cost is going to be a factor on this one. KGM is having me use mercury magnetics iron and NOS tubes. I'm going to also have to hear how she sounds with regular production tubes and then make a decision on whether or not its something others are going to want and how can I price it. KGM is going witha weber 12A125A (Ted's suggestion).

And on the color, the material is hard to laser, but my guy is going to give a try to some dark forest green with gold letters, cream chickenhead knobs. If this won't laser well, we'll have to make another choice. It should look stunning with the lacquered tweed oversized 1x12.

All I can say is "Woo-freakin'-hoo!!!"

(And yes, the color of the faceplate has been decided, as Scott says.)

You won't be disappointed, bro.

I almost went with oxblood knobs, but the original coloring was too perfect.

Re: Pimp My Celtic Amp Faceplate :)

His is the Franklin that has the stained poplar cabinet. It's in for a mod right now. Adding the Cut control I put on Stratman's and hence, a new faceplate. Originally I went with a maroon faceplate to match the stain. He has decided to continue with that color scheme.

I believe he will. Stratman is in Singapore...that's about as far overseas as you can get from Texas, and he has 2 Celtic's.
