Planet K - Couple More Live Tracks

Bullet Proof Toneologist
Here are a couple more live tracks of Planet K. These are definately a bit more on the rock side and less on the funk side. I am doing the leads on the verses and then Nate Pate lays down a little badness on the solo section and end section ( on INVASION FROM PLANET K ) I am useing a Silvertone 1483 and Nate is useing his 20 watt Crate beast. ENJOY!!

You guys have yourself a great band here!
Hmm come and play in Jazzhouse or Amager Bio in Copenhagen, and you'll probally have a good response from the people:D

Many thanks Niels,

Man it would be amazing... Maybe there is some crazy Carl Martin guitar showcase extravaganza you could host!!

I grew up with all of the band members, we have all known each other 20 years and spent our formative years playing together. Makes it much easier now!!

Re: Planet K - Couple More Live Tracks

Bumpity bump, you at least gotta hear the Crate tones my Buddy Nate ( co lead guitar) is getting. His Strat is screamin funky love!!

Re: Planet K - Couple More Live Tracks

Sparkle Motion sounds even more Trower-ish live.. love those loud guitars man! That wah action is flat out wicked :rambo: The bridge, then dualing leads = total coolness.

Whoah I hear more Trower in this live version of "Invasion".. Trower meets Jeff Beck, meets EVH, meets Planet K! :laugh2:

Dude, they just don't make music like this anymore.. keep rockin.

Re: Planet K - Couple More Live Tracks

duh.. kudos to the drummer and bass player too.. very tight and nice chops all round.

Re: Planet K - Couple More Live Tracks

Cool music. I dig it....totally 70's in a good way.

I'm curious about what guitar and pickups you're using on those tracks. I love a good strat neck tone, so I'm always interested in what people have in their guitar.

Thanks Mr Reed!!

I really dig reinventing the sounds of these tracks. I did not want to simply rehash exactly what I did in studio. Much more fun to play around. Simply a blast playing with high school chums on this stuff, we grew up playing together. A true connection to being young at heart!!

It is very intentionally a dated sound. I am kinda shooting for 1974...

I am actually useing my Korean Tokai Tele on that track. The neck pickup is a Fender Deltasound ( is that the name??) I picked it up for 10.00 and really like it. A big part of that is how Strat like it sounds, no muck at all. I bypassed the tone control with it, so it goes right to the volume. I have always liked that better with Teles. I am useing a DZ Virtual Tele in the bridge. I roll the tone back to 6 or 7 (.01 tone cap) and it sounds very PAF like. When I open the tone up, it turns back into a Tele pickup. I really dig it.

Nate is useing his cheapy G and L Legacy, Stock pickups in the neck and mid, I think he has a DZ YJM in the bridge. You would never no it by this band, but Nate is a classical shred master. It is crazy the stuff he whips out. We were messing with a country version of Black Star, it was both hilarious and awe inspiring watching him twang that tune out...
