Guys
Does anyone use the Planet Waves Auto Trim tuners ?

The idea looks really good but I wonder how the cutting edge lasts with regular string changes of a 10's set.

Anyone use them for a while and can give me advice ?

Many thanks

Re: Planet Waves Auto Trim Tuners

Hey there wolf, i have a set on my parts strat. they work really well.

The cutting edges are hardened steel and cut quickly and cleanly.
the only drawback i can see is that the posthole is up at the top of the post and the string actually winds downward. however this is only a problem if you use them on a strat or similar non-angled headstock. Two string trees are required for proper pressure on the nut.

i have had them for a year or so, and still amazed with them at string changes!

simple, idiot proof, and no bloody fingers.
gotta love 'em

to me, they also seem to be smoother than both schaller and sperzel lockers.

Re: Planet Waves Auto Trim Tuners

I have them on one of my guitars, and if I had enough extra cash they would be on all of them. The built in string cutter has lasted fine so far, and I think the mechanism is built in such a way that it wont wear out anytime soon, and if it does than... it does have a lifetime warranty of sorts for the original owner.

Re: Planet Waves Auto Trim Tuners

I've got them on a couple of mine and would happily put them on others. In fact when I get round to my next Warmoth order, guess what's going to be first thing on the parts list?

Re: Planet Waves Auto Trim Tuners

They're the best thing I've done to my Strat. They help keep the whammy in tune, too.
