Looks like ash to me. How heavy is it, if its light id change my guess to alder, if its heavier id guess ash.

it's a little on the heavier/dense side

No way to tell from what I'm seeing. Could be maple. If the grain is open it's probably ash.

i'd have to take a logical guess and say ash.

based on that site with the pictures of the different wood and grain I'd have to say it's almost definately maple. That's what the grain looks like.

ash

Would the bare wood require pore filling before finishing? If not, maple.

Ash will generally have a straight grain. It will also have a very open grain. Hard to say with the resolution on my pc and such a small sample but that looks to have neither.

I'm used to seeing alder look a little tanner than that, I'm gonna say ash. Not many guitar are made of maple because it's too bright for most people.

If your Parker is a Nitefly-SA, then the body is made out of Swamp Ash.

Most likely ash, although the pic sucks and I can´t see enough to be sure. But Swamp Ash is what Parker used for the Nitefly SA , and it´s DEFINITELY not mahogany......

Definitely not a piece of ash that I´d put a trans-finish on ;)
