I like Gibson L.P's quite a lot. They seem to get verbally trashed by so many, which I don't understand. I own one and have played others and haven't had a bad experience with one yet.
The price can be tough to swallow admittedly but it's like another "icon" brand,Harley Davidson, you are going to have to pay a premium for the name.
That up there is a nice guitar.

They are toppers on plastic I think.

Hated the wood mount.

Someone swapped the rings on an SG HP a few weeks ago and they were toppers over plastic rings. Taking a closer look at the pic, it looks like chrome toppers over black plastic rings.

I also can't stand wood mount; total PITA to adjust pickup height.

The HP II line actually had the height adjustment in the back of the guitars. While it's harder to install pickups, it's easier to adjust them and looks cleaner and kinda futuristic.

Gibson ≠ Harley

You can buy the classic Harley you always wanted, they don't make a bunch of newfangled crap that no one wants, their swag business is as big as the bike sales, and the bikes are flawless. They are a boutique builder for high end customers. The end.

Within 10 guitars at a GC, we can provide you with a bad experience. And even if it is minor, for over 2k, there should not be a bad experience ever. Never ever.

And given the features and performance, they shouldn't cost 2k either.

At GC they all get beat up and mangled by people that want to play with no intent (or ability) to buy them.

Reported cost for a week at Disney World for a family of four is just under $4k...seems like a lotta people drop that much cash for a week of overpriced mediocre food and long lines for mediocre entertainment...
Think the issue here is "a matter of principle"...not the money...
