Back in '89-ish, I bought/ordered a brand new lefty Les Paul Custom Black Beauty (but with 2 pickups).

I had to wait 6 months (because lefty)... and paid $1,600.00.

So naturally (and I understand things go up in price over the years, but...) when I see a righty non-Custom LP with a price tag of $3.5K, I have to shake my head.

Gibson, GFY.

Few years ago I bought a new 2013 LP Standard. It was cool, but I didn't bond with it (sold it after a bit).

I paid a much more reasonable $1,600.00.

Again, Gibson, GFY.

Dunno, I live nearby-ish the Anaheim Disneyland... many people around here have worked in related hospitality, transportation, or the park itself and typically regard the sh!tshow as the biggest joke on earth

I like Gibson L.P's quite a lot. They seem to get verbally trashed by so many, which I don't understand. I own one and have played others and haven't had a bad experience with one yet.
The price can be tough to swallow admittedly but it's like another "icon" brand,Harley Davidson, you are going to have to pay a premium for the name.
That up there is a nice guitar.

Great comment. Let me put it to you this way. If you bought an'18 for $3200 and then the next year they were 2k, would you get another? Or feel sick

Go back in at the end of the year and see what the prices look like. I went in to GC after Christmas last year and they had the standards for 2k even with 48 months. I bet sam ash does a similar deal with better stock. The hp are another 500 but much closer to what you want. Maybe not the 19’s but any 18’s left will be cheap.

Gibson ≠ Harley

You can buy the classic Harley you always wanted, they don't make a bunch of newfangled crap that no one wants, their swag business is as big as the bike sales, and the bikes are flawless. They are a boutique builder for high end customers. The end.

Have you seen the new line of Softails that replaced the Dyna, they are the motorcycle equivalent of robot tuners on a classic guitar.

This is true. I love the style of my 88 FXSTC but will be trading it in for about a 2007.... I don’t see any new Harley’s a I care for and they should bring back the dyna
