Played a Cort EVL-K6/4

Hehehe...was playing some Artcore guitars down at the local and saw this Cort hanging there (was either a K4 or K6). I've only ever played Cort guitars when I was younger and at that time the ones I played felt like strumming a fence.

This slightly cheesy little devil-axe was a good bit of fun though. Very light touch, could absolutely blast away on it, and the EMG pickups were a good deal of fun too.

I probably wouldn't buy one (decoration is a bit OTT), but man, was a great fun guitar to have a play on for a while. So easy to play though, and the quality felt pretty good. I was quite surprised overall, I hadn't expected a Cort to feel that good.

Have they gotten a lot better over the last few years or did they always make some decent stuff?

Looks like an Ibanez S Series guitar. I remember reading that Cort makes a lot of the Korean Ibanez guitars. Maybe you should check out an Ibanez S to find a similar guitar that's not quite so over the top.

That axe looks sweet! I'm not down with the decoratives either.

I've heard good things about there more "expensive" models, even though they aren't that much. The Matt Guitar Murphy model I've heard is a good axe but I've never got the chance to play one. Corts are hard to find. I have a Cort Strat-o-copy :D It was my first electric guitar and was the only electric I used for years. Some will say that I didn't know better and maybe I didn't. But for $175 (I believe that's what I paid for it about 7 years ago) I think it was a great first electric guitar. I think since they are known more for their inexpensive models that they get a bad rep. I believe they do make some cool axes that are decent but like I've said I've never had the chance to check them out.

Yeah I used to have a Japanese Ibanez S with DMZs ...was good fun too. Forgotten how fast and light they are to play now that my main guitars are a G&L Legacy and a Tele.

Interesting though, I might do a bit of looking in to what else their guitar line up includes.
