Played a Hot Rod DeVille tonight and loved it

The rehearsal studio my band is using has the drums, backline, and PA supplied. I didn't fell like bringing my head tonight and ended up using a Hot Rod Deville. The amp sounded so crisp and cut right through the mix. Also keep in mind my band is a mix of hardcore, thrash and old school punk. I was able to get a brutal tone out of that little beast with my Dirt Clod. I had the amp on 2 and it was more than loud enough. I think I have GAS again. What a great and versatile amp.

DeVille's are bloody fantastic, was it a 4X10 or 2X12? I'm kinda partial to the 4X10's but they are flipping loud!!! I had to sell mine because the police kept showing up at very inopportune moments but I do miss it sometimes!!! Now I mainly play through a Hot Rod Deluxe at home and push it through a 4X12 when I need to move a bit more air. It's not quite the same but it's pretty darn close....

It was the 4x10 it sounded fantastic the guys in my band are still buzzing about it via text messaging. It really cut through the mix.

You know what you have to do, make that purchase! You'll never regret it!

Every so often I get serious GAS for a Fender style 4x10" Super Reverb, Bassman, Hot Rod Deville and especially a Mesa Lonestar.

I've been wanting to get one of those 4x10s to convert to a 1x15, especially since Celestion came out with the Fullback.

That would be a freaking beast of an amp. I like the way you think.

I bought a JC 120 last week! I can't buy every amp tha puts a sparkle in my eye...or can I.

4x10 Devilles are every bit as good as a Bassman or SuperReverb. I own a SuperReverb and have played the DeVille and a Bassman. DeVille is the more versatile.

We record every practice cut up the tracks then upload it to a shared drive. I was just listening to my guitar, and for lack of a better term, my pants got a little tight. I haven't practiced with the JC 120 yet, but I might be buying yet another amp if I don't like the results or maybe I will go back to my boat anchor Quad Reverb. Don't get me wrong I love my Marshall, but there is something about the way a Fender cuts through the mix.

Let's be honest, it's time for a three way output A/B/C/Y pedal and the Marshall/Fender/Roland!

Can't say I haven't thought about it

Perhaps you should give the latest version of the Peavey Delta Blues 115 a try. It's stock speaker is now the Celestion Fullback G15V-100. :?:

It's real good that you want to.

I've got a 10 year-old or so HR Deville I bought used for 300 bucks a couple of years ago. It is a great amp. I even like the tone at bedroom levels.

The drive channels aren't that great, but a great trick I discovered was to run the "less" drive channel with just a bit of gain, like 3 or so, and then put my tube screamer clone in front of it. Really an awesome drive sound.

The reverb is really good, too. For the price they go for used, they are a real steal.
