wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.....

this thing sounds almost stupid its so good! it reflects the sound amazingly, throws it out, has a nice and nonthin sound to it, very large sound. nice and crisp and bright yet low and well. my ideal sound from an acoustic i found in this instrument. the playability, its great. not perfect, the action could be a millimeter lower(lol), but its as close as it comes to perfect. it felt nice in my body and played nice in my hands. not to expencive either, the store i went to had it for $959 (or something like that). better yet, my mom even loved the sound! she said it was amazing and beautiful, which it was......now if i could only get her to get it...lol

Re: played a taylor 310 acoustic today....fell in absolute love

I'd price the same guitar at Buffalo Bros .... they're one of the top Taylor dealers in the land.

Re: played a taylor 310 acoustic today....fell in absolute love

aight cool, whats there site?

Re: played a taylor 310 acoustic today....fell in absolute love

You'll need to call or email for a price on a new one ....
they're open till 7 Pacific time

I've found them to be quite a bit lower than, say, GC .... they move a LOT of Taylors ;)

Re: played a taylor 310 acoustic today....fell in absolute love

ooo, sweet! im going to call tomarro, its 9:48 here, so its before 7 pacific time, but its close......

that guitar was sooo nice, hopefully they shall have a god price! thanks man!

Re: played a taylor 310 acoustic today....fell in absolute love

I'll just add this .... I've been to their store many times, and never bought anything, but they've always been cool

also, if you buy guitar from stock, they offer 100% "trade up" value!

I don't know of anyone else who does that, but I'd bet it pays for itself in return customers.

Re: played a taylor 310 acoustic today....fell in absolute love

"This will tell you all you need to know
about our exclusive 100% Upgrade Policy

1) What is the "100% Upgrade Policy?"

When you buy an Electric or Acoustic guitar or bass from us, you can TRADE it back in for the same price you paid toward a more expensive guitar! Who else does this?!? Pretend you buy a guitar from us for $1,000. But six weeks, six months, six years, six whatevers later you wish you had that fancy abalone inlay version for $1,500 instead. You can then upgrade your guitar and get your full $1,000 in trade and only pay the $500 difference!
Right now you're saying, "How can you guys do it? What's the hook?"

2) Here are the Hooks:

a) You have to be smart enough to buy your new OR used guitar from us originally.

b) You have to have your receipt showing what you paid! (Our upgrade policy applies to the original owner only.)

c) It must be in "similar" condition to when you bought it. That means a small mark is OK on a guitar we sold you new, BUT if it's got a broken neck, was painted seasick lime pink, and then dragged 4 miles down a gravel road...it is NOT in similar condition! (Lord knows we wouldn't have sold one of those!).

d) This is an "upgrade" policy. The guitar you are trading up for must be a minimum of $100 more than what you paid on the first guitar. Tax and Shipping are NOT included--only the price of the guitar.

e) You cannot trade up toward consignment guitars (only because the consignee wants $$$ not a guitar in trade).

f) This policy does not apply to "CUSTOM" or "SPECIAL ORDER" instruments. (Sorry, but that hot pink acoustic guitar with the orange fur fingerboard and Bigsby you ordered isn't as valuable to other folks, no matter how cool it is!).

g) Our upgrade policy is dedicated to helping you find the "right" instrument to fit your playing style. It is intended that you will play it, enjoy it, and then upgrade as your playing style and interests change! So we limit 100% upgrades to one (1) per year (365 days after your last trade) per person as this will encourage the player to let an instrument "open up" to its full potential before being upgraded to another new choice.

3) Why do we do this?

Funny, that's the same thing our accountant asks us! Seriously though, we do this because we want to help our customers upgrade to better instruments as their playing improves and their styles change. And we want you as a LONG TERM customer. Why would you take it to someone else to trade in for less? So, instead of buying from some store who'll tell you your $1,000 guitar is only worth $200 in trade because you put a fingerprint on the fingerboard, bring your guitar back to us! Plus it makes you think we are incredibly cool and modest guys. Best of all, it frustrates the living heck out of our competition!

4) Last but not least--Beware of CopyCats!

Some dealers out there are going nuts over this policy. Some try to copy it but beware, some offer it only on NEW guitars only! (Not new & used like us!) Some offer a "sliding scale" of 75% to 100%. (Where we give you 100%). So while "Imitation is the highest form of flattery," no one does it like us! So don't be fooled, it all started here with Buffalo Bros many many years ago!

We're the originals!
Who else does this but us?"

Re: played a taylor 310 acoustic today....fell in absolute love

I played a 314 and had to have it. Now my buddies who have a D28 and a D35 express jealousy. It's subtle because they have money invested in these guitars - which are awesome BTW. It's just that my 314 cost less than half what they paid. I think the Grand Auditorium shape is a nice change of pace to from their dreads. Regardless, Taylor makes GREAT instruments with a noticably sweet sound. I'm 100% happy. Get one.

Re: played a taylor 310 acoustic today....fell in absolute love

I'd guess that the Grand Auditorium is their best selling body shape.

I've been to their factory, since it's about 12 miles away. they had nice wood :)

Re: played a taylor 310 acoustic today....fell in absolute love

TAYLORS ROCK!!!!!!!

simple as that...they are my personal favorite sounding and playing acoustics!!!

that Buffalo Bros trade in policy is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!

Re: played a taylor 310 acoustic today....fell in absolute love

i played a 314 there (or another grand auditorium level, but it was in the 300 series price range), and i liked the dread better. i guess its just a personal opinion of sound.

Re: played a taylor 310 acoustic today....fell in absolute love

difference between the dread and GA is big. At the time I bought it I was looking for something different. It's definitely a personal thing.

Nice articulate and gentle sound - really good for fingerstyle and complex sounds. I love a dread for hard strumming and open string sounds. Loud stuff. Together the GA and a nice Dread sound very complimentary. Funny thing is the GA is easily loud enough with medium strings to keep up with any guitar I have played with so far (not counting my Lester plugged into a HotRod Deluxe :-))

cheers
