Birthday party turned into a jam like mucho miniature last waltz kinda thing. Arrived guitarless for birthday party. When things got rolling I had to jump in and all that I could get my hands on was this Peavey Predator. Always thought they were like Kmart things. Big surprise, complete stock, the neck was slim and easy, nice medium action. Tone was the biggest surprise - those Peavey humbuckers were excellent. Bridge bright but enough mids to keep it full and tight bass. Neck was warm but had a nice bass and treble undertones. The real kick was how well they split, got a genuine single coil tone out of them. Not as nice as my TB-5, I think it splits better than any pickup I've tried but the Peavey splits were good and useful. Kinda amazed what manufacturers are putting out in the low end of the price range these days. I took a quick Google and they are easy under 200. Can't imagine what that thing would sound like with a Duality set.
