the bogner shiva!!!!

i have never played that amp before, io had always gont to the marshall or soldano but some guy at MAE said for me to try it out. so i plugged in the usa jackson kelly into it and i was simply blown away!! great 80's metal tone, then i can just roll back the volume to get a nice gritty blues tone, and then a perfect pristine clean tone!
every guitar i playued through it just had a perfect tone, strat... perfect, jackson kelly....perfect, Ibanez Jem....perfect, it was such a great sounding amp!

i knwo what amp im getting next!! :dance:

You can find those heads for typically $1400 on the used market. They're closer to $2000 new. I know I go on and on about Bogner, and have probably given many guys GAS here, just talking about them, but really, it's the best amp company to come out since Marshall, Mesa, Fender, and Vox. If you're a rock player who wants great OD tones and great clean tones, you could walk into an amp shop blindfolded, play every amp in the store, and you'd walk out knowing that either the Ecstasy or Shiva was the best thing you've ever plugged into.

For the Point to Point, single channel, vintage purists who scoff at the idea of a bells and whistle amp sounding great.......think of Reinholdt Bogner as the Rupert Neve of tube amp design.

On the Ecstasy, 12 O'clock on all the knobs is neutral, meaning you could set every knob on the amp straight up and it would sound perfect. Then, like a mixing console, you're either adding or subtracting frequencies. It's almost impossible to get a muddy tone out of it, unless you set the controls like you would with a Marshall.
On both the blue and red channels, the gains are never set past 1 O'clock.
The amount of gain and sustain you can get out of the Ecstasy is ridiculous, plus unlike most other amps it growls at any volume and even the highgain tone is thick and fat. The feel under your fingers is bouncy and just a pleasure to play.

Some think that it has more of a Marshall vibe, and can't do the thick crunchy metal sound like a Rectifier. Wrong. Flick the structure switch
and it'll reconfigure the EQ to sound like either the history of Marshall or Mesa.
The thing is sick!

The Shivas is a class act but way out of my price range. Too bad :(

Framus Cobra is more up my alley ... cost wise at least.


Serious about those prices on the Shivas ..?

A new UBERSCHALL goes for $3,000USD in Toronto.

Every amp is different for every one playing style and dynamics. I have been through a ton of boutique amps, Mesa, rack stuff blah blah blah, and returned to my old 1979, 2203 that bought in 1983. I have come full circle I had Scott SPlawn rebuild my old Marhsall and I bought a White anniverysary 100 slp from him these are my main gigging amps right now. It puts my other guitar players Engl savage to shame. Not that the engl sounds bad the Splawn just sounds that good with my playing style, I play very hard with a heavy pick attack and the Splawn responds great. He just shakes his head when we play. I couldn't be happier. Scott Splawn has a great ear.

Bogner make some great stuff Cantrell from AIC proves that and VAI, but I cut my teeth on Marshall and I will be a Marshall guy until I die I guess, I wiht you Jeff . It is nice when you find the tone that satisfys the tone in your head and feeling when you play. I am sure you guys know what I mean with that statement:)

I'm so happy with my amp, it nails everything I've ever wanted (which is a lot). But there's always the part of Chris that says "but if I had an Ecstasy, it MIGHT be even better". That part scares me! :burnout:

when i tried the ecstacy, everything was set up at 5, and it still sounded a bit muddy. but i'll try it next time and see how rockin i can get it to be!

I've been dying to try the Uberschall for a while now. Can't find anywhere to play one though, if you know somewhere around the Seattle area that I can try it out, please notify me! The praise on these heads is unreal!

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I love good Marshalls too. My favorite one's are usually the modded ones by guys like Splawn, Arredondo, Morin, or Lee Jackson. So much fun to play!

I'm afraid of playing any Bogners or Soldanos for fear I'll fall in love with them. Then I'd be in eternal tonal depression because I'd never afford them!!! :yell:
