Pleasant surprises! Epi bridge swap

First, Ill say that little goes right for me... Usually I have to take the long, hard way to do most things.. However, I had a few wonderful small little surprises that ties to some of my previous posts, so I thought Id share.

Got this EPI LP, the bridge was jacked up on it, so I fixed it, but I didn't care for the multi piece construction of it, so I order a GOTOH bridge. (thanks to those who helped with the suggestions in my other thread and definately to the poster that gave me a direct link!! ) Anyhow. installed it last night. Kept the stock inserts in.. Slacked the strings, screwed out the old studs, in with the new studs, popped on the bridge and restrung it. The first pleasant surprise was that it was quick and easy to swap, next, my estimates on the height were great, so I ended up with lower action than I started with! Out of the box, the saddles were pretty much mid line across them all. So the next cool thing is that intonation was nearly spot on on every string!! I had to slightly adjust one saddle!!!
So, I was so stoked that it went so well. I worked on it from about 1-2 am, but the bridge part took about 20 min or less. The rest was readjusting pickup height. So, from 2-4 am I just played!

Thanks for reading, and again to those who offered suggestions during my other posts on the topic!!! Seems more solid to me then having a wire holding the saddles in.

Re: Pleasant surprises! Epi bridge swap

At least you had something go right for you for once huh? I have a tune-O-Matic that corroded up from the sweat after I used the guitar a couple times and forgot to clean it. Tried to get the tarnish off, but to no success. Even with a dreamer tool buffer on medium speed. May just order another one day to replace. Would you recommend a roller bridge or a tune o matic to go back with?

Glad it hear it worked out nice and easy. Those Gotohs are hard to beat for the money and they get the job done.

My friend...we have this in common.

I'm psyched this worked out for you.

My dearly departed dad used to say "The sun even shines on a dogs a$$ some days."

:D
