please help me find what these chords are

i am at a complete loss.

i know what the root is a G, but there is also a D in there (actualy 2), which is a 2 or 10 (im almost positive) in the G scale. There are also 2 A's, but that is just a third in the G scale...


in the second one, its the same with an added E, which would be a 9 (i believe).

help!?


*EDIT* apon furthur inspection, i actually believe the first one to be a Gsus2

hehe, i know how to find chords. i have read like 10 seperate articles on the whole circle of fifths and also just plain how to find chords. i just got stumped on this one....

I'm pretty versed in Harmony, and feel it should be said in a general way that: the context in which a chord is used is it's biggest factor in deciphering it's name. I could tell you tons of names for any 1 group of notes, but it's function in the song will determine it's best suited identity.
