i know you get hundreds of 'help me' questions probably daily, but,i need help in choosing a pickup
i play punk,BUT, i plsy other styles,i want a realy good,mid-high pickup thats very clear, doesnt **** up with heavy distotion (or sound muddy) thats very diverse towards styles
can you help?

Re: Please Help

well,to be honest,i dont know anything about the woods (call it ignorance)
but its a Squier Affinity series strat (very bad, very cheap, but means too much to me)

Re: Please Help

yeah thats pretty much my guitar
i have pedals and things,so would i need a distorted pickup? i just want a fairlybright, clean tone that sounds very raw through distortion pedals ( i use a dr distortio by line6 and it sounds way better through humbuckers)

Re: Please Help

I like the Custom Custom for punk, doesnt mud up, stays quite clear, but has a bit of a snarl to it. I also had a bandmate who used a JB and that worked quite well for this sort of thing too.

could you shoe me these pickups.i cant find them

thanks for your help, all the people who have replied here,it really is appreciated, and im glad your not looking down at me for not knowing as much as you like some people do on some forums

Re: Please Help

i second the jb. good treble response and hi-mid bump. for a strat, i recommend 250k pots with it.

Re: Please Help

wait a minute, are you using a single coil or humbucker nearest the bridge?

Re: Please Help

a single coil for now,but it lacks the (for lack of a better word) umph my guitars with humbuckers have wit hthe pedals,so a single coil at the bridge, but want it to be a humbucker

Re: Please Help

59, Custom, C5, or JB would all work for what you want.

IF the clean tones are very important to you, stick with the 59 or C5.
