well, I'm at work today. Got a little work done..taking a break now...listening to some Amp clips.

I did a search over at HC for "marshall clips". Here's a link

Not all of these links work (old threads) but many do.

One thing I'm noticing...many of these folks are getting some DAMN GREAT Marshall tones out of DSL/TSL/900/SLX amps. In particular Chris Snider is getting some AWESOME high gain Marshall sounds of this SLX w/ EL34s. Chris used to have one of the best clip pages on the net...had TONS of amps..from Bogner through Peavey and everything in between. Hell he had about 10 differnt marshall amps from a SuperBass to a DSL. Sadly he doesn't have the page anymore.

It's an enjoyable listen (all of these clips) if you have some time...and enlightening...with some effort (rebias, new tubes, diff speakers, etc) these newer Marshalls sound great!

Yes I'm bored... :D

A shame Tony's solos arent included though, they are some of the best solos to ever surface on this planet! lol

Sune...agreed....TSL does a pretty good job though on that clip...has that "grind"

BTW, I'm listening to the concert link you posted now :D WarPigs...it's one of the few sabbath songs I know and play....maybe I'll do a clip this weekend..

The TSL sound is a bit oo un-TSLish for my taste... dunno... not what I'd buy a TSL for

I'm gonna give the beck track a listen again...I've got a pair of pretty decent speakers here and didn't think the compression was that bad? Whatya guys listening on?

Do that, but remember to include the solos..The song isn't the same without 'em.

I grew up playing Rockmans as practice amps...guess that much compression doesn't phase me :D

..though It's not my taste (compressors)...I guess I'm used to hearing them.....

no can do...not with my recording rig..for reasons I've explained in some of my other clip posts :laugh2:

But you don't need to buy a TSL for that ;)
