Hello,

My first post here. :smokin:

I read this Forum extensively before buying my PlexiTone. Thanks to Rid and all of you for your posts and clips. :beerchug:

Very happy with the PlexiTone. I run it into a Fuchs Lucky Seven.

Hey Rid ... I'm sure you've had enough suggestions, but I can't help but wonder about a PlexiTone with this arrangement ...

Level - Bass - Mid - Treble - Gain

... using the Crunch channel :fingersx:

More later ...

Hehe no extra eq...ever:D
It simply steals away the signal and adds noise, so I fooled around with that for 30 secs and never looked back, guess I just like it as it is;)
How does it sound on a Fuchs???

Nice funky pedal board - Home made?

Hee hee, yeah ... compared to pedal boards nowadays, mine looks a little rudimentary. :)

15 years old, been through a lot of revisions, just a hunk o' plywood - angled a bit - some kind of cheap vinyl covering.

You know a 1000 times more than I about pedal designing :notworthy I was just wondering out loud.

Sounds spectacular with the Fuchs! I'm still twirling knobs and haven't discovered everything about the interaction of the Fuchs - PT (and Sparkle Drive) ... lots and lots of potential there.

Thanks for a great sound!

Hijack-

Can you give me a rundown on that lucky 7? I have a lead on one for 600 USed. I like the clips from fuch's website. How are the cleans/usable headroom?

thanks,

Dave

+1 on the board. I love the roto vibe!

Re: PlexiTone - thanks ...

That's something a friend made. He originally designed it for stage use - to balance the signal strength of 2 guitars using strong and weak pickups.

It's not just a simple AB thing , it has resistors and what not in there (I'm certainly not an expert on it, you could contact him at ...)

spaceage47@yahoo.com

I bought it back when I was futzing with different ways of running 2 amps at a time ... now I just use it to split the signal for the tuner.

Hey What Is That Splitter Thing You Have There? Does It Prevent Ground Loops?

Re: PlexiTone - thanks ...

Wow, 600 used would be a BUY.

I've had it only a couple weeks, so I'm not full of info on it.

When I first cranked it I was a little disappointed in the ("low-ish") volume and gain. But, then I slammed it with the Sparkle Drive set for maximum clean boost and whoopee ... THERE's the sound!

I'm using a stock MIM Strat (not the best pickups) and it just wasn't goosing the L7 enough.

But, really clean headroom? Not a whole lot. I'd say un-mic'ed and unboosted it wouldn't be a great choice for a loud band.

The clean sound is Marshall way more than Fender in character.

I didn't get it for clean, though - I play 95% of everything with at least some hair on it and enjoy power tube saturation at less than punishing volume levels. I look at the Lucky Seven as a miniature Plexi :)

It shipped with a JJ EL34 and Tung Sol/Ruby pre amp tubes. A 6V6 is an option - dropping the power output from 7 to around 4 watts. I'm not anxious to change, though ... I like the EL34.

If you like plexitone and Trower then you must be ok :6: :laugh2:

Glad you like the pedal. I am not much of a pedal guy, but my plexitone definitely gets used.. and I have a plexi RI :D

Yep, some great "Trower Tone" I'm getting from the PT, too! :beerchug:
